Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Qahtan Publishes a Scientific Paper Indexed in Scopus

Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Qahtan Jassim, a faculty member in the Department of Pathological Analyses at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, has published a scientific research paper in AIP Conference Proceedings, which is indexed in Scopus and classified  (Q4).

The research is titled:
“Evaluation of Thyroid and Ovarian Tissue in Female Rats Treated with Metformin”

In his study, Dr. Marwan aimed to investigate the histological effects of metformin and propylthiouracil on thyroid gland and ovarian tissues.

The results demonstrated a significant decrease in the concentrations of thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, and T4). This reduction may be attributed to several factors, including metformin’s ability to modulate thyroid hormone receptor binding. Additionally, metformin may increase dopamine secretion or directly regulate TSH levels.
