College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra Organizes a Tree-Planting Campaign as Part of Sustainability Week Activities

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra, Prof. Dr. Hassan Ahmed Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision and follow-up of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yasser Adnan, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein, and in the presence of the Head of the Department of Sharia, Dr. Ahmed Khudair Jassim, and the Head of the Sustainability Committee and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Sharia, Dr. Janan Shakir Ali, with the participation of a group of students, the College of Islamic Sciences organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign in the college gardens as part of Sustainability Week activities aimed at promoting a culture of sustainable development and preserving the university environment.

The campaign included planting a number of trees and perennial plants across the college gardens, contributing to enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the campus, increasing green spaces, and spreading environmental awareness among students and staff.

The college administration confirmed that these initiatives align with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in supporting environmental sustainability programs and reinforcing the social responsibility of academic institutions, as well as engaging students in volunteer activities that serve the community and develop environmental awareness.

This campaign is part of a series of activities organized by the college in celebration of Sustainability Week, emphasizing the university’s role in building a sustainable educational environment that serves future generations.
