University of Samarra launches initiatives to reduce private vehicles and promote sustainable transportation

The University of Samarra announced a set of initiatives aimed at reducing the entry of private vehicles into the campus, including operating internal buses, providing free bicycles, encouraging cycling activities during working hours, and applying a paid parking system for private cars.

The university explained that it has provided more than 6 electric vehicles to distribute essential materials to departments and offices, and conducted an audit of public bicycle parking spaces, recording 66 spots with a plan to increase them to 90. The university confirmed that these steps are part of its strategy to enhance sustainable transportation and improve the quality of campus life.
