A Faculty Member from the College of Education for Human Sciences Participates in a Ministerial Committee for the Establishment of Postgraduate Studies

Assistant Professor Dr. Afaf Hafez Shaker, a faculty member in the Department of English Language at the College of Education for Human Sciences, participated in the work of a ministerial committee assigned to study the establishment of a Master\’s program in English Language / English Literature at the College of Education for Women, Al-Iraqia University.

Her participation came pursuant to a ministerial order issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. On June 14, 2026, the ministerial committee conducted a field visit to the College of Education for Women at Al-Iraqia University to assess the academic, administrative, and material requirements necessary for launching postgraduate studies in the Department of English Language.

The committee included a distinguished group of specialists from various Iraqi universities. It was tasked with evaluating the department’s available resources and determining the extent to which they meet the requirements and regulations governing the establishment of postgraduate programs, thereby contributing to the advancement of academic development and the expansion of postgraduate studies across Iraqi universities.

Dr. Shaker’s selection as a member of this ministerial committee reflects recognition of her academic expertise and specialization in English Literature, as well as her active role in scientific and academic committees that contribute to the development of higher education and the enhancement of postgraduate study quality.
