Department of Sharia Organizes a Scientific Course on the Islamic Foundations of Educational Institution Councils and Their Contemporary Applications

The Department of Sharia at the College of Islamic Sciences organized a scientific course entitled “The Islamic Foundations of Educational Institution Councils and Their Contemporary Applications” in one of the college’s lecture halls, with the participation of a group of faculty members from the department. The course aimed to clarify the Islamic principles upon which administrative and academic councils in educational institutions are based and to highlight their role in promoting the principle of consultation (Shura) and regulating institutional work in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

The course sought to explain the concept of educational councils and their importance in managing academic institutions. It also provided a scholarly foundation for the Islamic principle of consultation and collective decision-making, while reviewing contemporary applications of college councils, departmental councils, and scientific committees, as well as their mechanisms of operation. Furthermore, the course addressed the major challenges facing these councils and discussed ways to improve their performance in line with the requirements of higher education and the principles of good governance.

The course witnessed active scholarly engagement from participants and contributed to enhancing awareness of the importance of applying Islamic principles in modern academic administration, thereby improving institutional efficiency and promoting quality in educational institutions.

The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Ahmed Saleh, Assistant Lecturer Abdulrahim Khalid Hassan, and Assistant Lecturer Abdulrazzaq Mohammed Hashim.
