A lecturer in the Department of History has been appointed as a member of a Master\’s thesis examination committee at the University of Tikrit
Professor Ali Abdulhafidh Hamoudi, Ph.D., a faculty member in the Department of History, College of Education for Humanities, University of Samarra, was selected to serve as a member of the Master\’s thesis defense committee for the thesis entitled:
\”The Prophetic Biography (the Medinan Period) through Al-Tabari\’s Jāmiʿ al-Bayān fī Tafsīr al-Qur\’an (d. 310 AH): A Historical Study.\”
The thesis was defended at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Tikrit, by the student Waad Ahmad Ali.
The thesis examined the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the Medinan period, regarded as the decisive stage in the formation of the Islamic community. It investigated the historical accounts presented by Imam Al-Tabari in his renowned Qur\’anic exegesis, Jāmiʿ al-Bayān fī Tafsīr al-Qur\’an, and analyzed the major events of that period while highlighting their political, social, and religious dimensions. The study adopted the historical method to examine exegetical texts and derive their historical significance.
The selection of Professor Ali Abdulhafidh Hamoudi as a member of the defense committee reflects the distinguished academic standing of the faculty members of the Department of History and their continuous contribution to postgraduate studies and active participation in scientific committees across Iraqi universities, thereby promoting scientific research and strengthening academic cooperation among higher education institutions.
