International Scientific Achievement: Professor Dr. Riyadh Azzawi Badr Publishes Joint Research in Scopus Repositories
Professor Dr. Riyadh Azzawi Badr, a faculty member in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Samarra, has published a joint scientific research paper in cooperation with an international research team including researchers from Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, and Malaysia, in a prestigious international journal classified within the first quartile (Q1).
The research, titled: *\\\”Metal Oxide Nanoparticles: A Promising Solution to Combat Antibiotic Resistance and Enhance Antimicrobial Therapy,\\\”* was published in the journal *Inorganic Chemistry Communications* by the international publishing house *Elsevier*, which is indexed within the *Scopus* database, with an impact factor of (5.9) and a *CiteScore* of (8.5).
The study included an in-depth evaluation of the role of metal oxide nanoparticles as a promising solution to confront antibiotic resistance and enhance the efficiency of antimicrobial treatments, highlighting the latest scientific developments and future applications in the medical and health fields, which directly contributes to addressing one of the most prominent challenges facing the health sector globally.
Furthermore, the research reached prominent scientific and practical results that proved the high efficiency of metal oxide nanoparticles and their superior ability to penetrate the cell walls of microbes and inhibit their growth. However, the study indicated that the future of these promising nanomaterials requires the establishment of standardized protocols for synthesis, characterization, and toxicity assessment to overcome the obstacles of variation in particle size and shape, which directly affects their therapeutic efficiency and the speed of obtaining regulatory approvals, thereby opening new horizons for developing a new generation of safer medical treatments.
On this occasion, the Deanship of the College of Engineering, represented by its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, congratulates Professor Dr. Riyadh Azzawi Badr and his research team for this scientific excellence and international cooperation in publishing their rigorous research, praising this qualitative achievement that reflects the advanced level of the college and contributes to raising the status of the University of Samarra in global academic rankings.
