A Faculty Member at the College of Education for Human Sciences Publishes a Research Paper in a Peer-Reviewed International Scientific Journal

The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Samarra has achieved a new academic accomplishment through the participation of Ms. Aya Qasim Hassan, Lecturer in the Department of English, in publishing a research article in DIWAN: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Arab, a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Imam Bonjol State Islamic University, Padang, Indonesia.

The article was published in Volume 18, Issue 1 (2026) under the title:

Pragmatic Acts and Bilingual Audience Design: A Critical Pragmatics Analysis of Al Jazeera Arabic and English in the 2026 Iran–Israel–US Conflict Report

The study presents a critical pragmatic analysis of Al Jazeera’s Arabic and English coverage of the 2026 Iran–Israel–US conflict. It examines pragmatic acts and bilingual audience design strategies to explore how media discourse is adapted for different linguistic audiences, highlighting the linguistic and pragmatic differences in constructing media messages and their impact on shaping audience perceptions of the events.

Ms. Aya Qasim Hassan participated as a co-author, contributing to the translation of the manuscript’s core data and its linguistic and literary interpretation as part of an international research team comprising scholars from Indonesia, Algeria, Türkiye, and Iraq.
