The Scientific Assistant Participates in the Meeting of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance

Professor Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed (Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs) attended the meeting of the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, representing the University of Samarra, held at the University of Kufa.

The meeting was attended by presidents of Iraqi public universities, representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office, and representatives from the Ministries of Higher Education, Justice, Youth and Sports, Labor and Social Affairs, in addition to representatives from the Popular Mobilization Forces and religious endowments.

The attendees discussed university plans and programs aimed at enhancing community security, strengthening national cohesion, and combating behaviors and phenomena alien to Iraqi society.

The discussions focused on key points, including developing a clear vision and objectives for the national committee, preparing a comprehensive plan for community awareness and guidance, and appointing two deputies for the committee as well as representatives in all Iraqi provinces.

In the same context, the participants emphasized leveraging the expertise of academic and research institutions and coordinating with relevant entities to support the state’s efforts in achieving social stability.

The meeting concluded with important recommendations, including developing educational curricula to strengthen national identity, monitoring social media platforms that promote extremist ideas, particularly those threatening the social fabric of the Iraqi people, and continuing to hold seminars and conferences aimed at combating extremist and takfiri ideologies. Additionally, the organization of exchange visits between university students was recommended to foster cultural understanding among provinces.
