Faculty Member from the College of Applied Sciences Participates in Specialized Training Courses in Cytogenetics
Assistant Professor Dr. Hanan Waleed Mohammed, a faculty member in the Department of Pathological Analyses at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, participated in several specialized training courses organized by the Iraqi Center for Cancer Research and Medical Genetics at Al-Mustansiriyah University.
The training courses focused on chromosome analysis and advanced cytogenetics, covering the latest updates and techniques used in the detection and interpretation of chromosomal abnormalities to enhance the accuracy of laboratory diagnosis.
The courses also addressed the most recent chromosomal alterations associated with a wide range of diseases and medical conditions, including infertility, intellectual disability, thalassemia, intersex conditions, epilepsy, nephrosclerosis, and other genetic disorders.
In addition, the training included practical instruction on the use of the CytoVision system, a specialized platform for Cytogenetics laboratories used for chromosome imaging and analysis. The courses aimed to strengthen participants’ scientific and practical expertise while keeping them up to date with the latest developments in the field of medical genetics and cytogenetics.
