Title: University of Samarra Welcomes Ministerial Committee for Establishing a Master’s Program in History
The President of the University of Samarra, Professor Dr. Sabah Alawi Khalaf, received the ministerial committee assigned to assess the readiness of the College of Arts for establishing a master’s program in the Department of History—Modern and Contemporary History. The visit took place on the evening of Tuesday, March 11 / Ramadan 2025.
Accompanying the committee was the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Alou, who guided them as they reviewed the availability of material resources, human resources, and the necessary requirements set by the Department of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The committee expressed its appreciation for the college’s preparations and its readiness to launch graduate studies in the History Department, confirming that the college administration has met the ministry’s requirements.
For its part, the College of Arts administration aims to strengthen its academic foundation by advancing vertically in scientific development and establishing a solid base for its students by providing graduate study opportunities.
Dr. Alawi stated that the university administration remains committed to expanding its academic programs to serve both the university and its students, as well as the city of Samarra and Salah al-Din Governorate. He highlighted that, within just one year, five new graduate study branches have been introduced at the College of Arts, and the momentum for academic growth continues.
