The University of Samarra – Archaeological pottery made by the first man and the entrance to the world of treasures and secrets

 

The application of the practical side continues in the College of Archeology, especially for the Department of Maintenance and Restoration, which is considered the spirit of archaeology because of its importance in bringing life back to archaeological finds. Perhaps the most famous of them are pottery artifacts. It constitutes up to half of them in various excavation sites.
And for the student to acquire the high skills and scientific techniques adopted globally in the methods of restoring and sustaining archaeological artifacts.
The student must undergo intensive laboratory training, especially with the imitation models that are available to us.
Thus, yesterday’s lecture included the practical course of pottery, where work was done on the method of assembling and pasting archaeological pottery pieces, as well as the documentation process for the pieces, and the process of completing the missing parts of the pottery pieces.
