The President of the University of Samarra discusses updating the strategic plan 2021-2026 for the university
Prof. Dr. Sabah Allawi Al-Samarrai – President of Samarra University – chaired the meeting of the special committee to update the strategic plan for the years 2021-2026 for the University of Samarra.
The attendees reviewed the timings in the guideline for public universities for preparing the strategic plan for 2021-2026. They worked on reviewing, updating, and monitoring progress in the leading performance indicators of the strategic plan of the university, its colleges, and departments.
During the meeting, the required plan was presented on presenting the educational institution’s mission, vision, objectives, and desired results, and the required work plans and performance measures, in addition to a proposal to include new goals when reviewing and updating the strategic plan, which could consist of the application of national institutional accreditation standards and the application of program accreditation standards. Specialized, as well as the application of the standards of the European Excellence Model EFQM, in addition to the application of the specifications of the occupational safety and health management system (ISO 45001: 2018) and the application of the environmental management system (ISO 14001: 2015), and the application of the energy management system (ISO 50001: 2018).
The meeting concluded with the following recommendations:
1-That there be a periodic meeting of the committee and once a week; To see the work done.
2-Conducting a simplified study to determine the existing requirements and capabilities and structuring programs scientifically – distributed – according to the axes of the new goals; To complete it before reviewing the previous plan.
3-The work of small sub-committees that adopt the preparation of requirements and work to accomplish them according to a specific time limit.
The meeting was attended by the vice president of the university and the committee members, and the meeting witnessed an exchange of constructive visions—a positive interaction to start updating the plan.
