A master’s thesis at the College of Education at the University of Samarra discussed the effect of polycystic ovary syndrome on the balance system between oxidative stress and its antagonists and some hormonal variables in affected women in Samarra city.

The thesis presented by the student Nour Younis Salman aims to study the concentration of oxidative stress (MDA) and its enzymatic and non-enzymatic antagonists (GSH, Catalase, SOD), the attention of the sex hormone (testicular lipid) Testosterone, the stress hormone (cortisol), the concentration of albumin and uric acid, and the study of the concentration of mineral elements Iron Fe and Magnesium Mg.

The thesis confirmed the high iron Fe + 2 concentration in women with PCOS compared to healthy women and the absence of a difference in the concentration of magnesium Mg between healthy women and those with PCOS.

The thesis recommended conducting studies on mineral elements such as lead, cadmium, and manganese, in addition to conducting studies on antioxidants, vitamin C, E, selenium, and peroxynitrite.
