The QS World Classification Committee at Samarra University holds its first preparatory meeting

 

The QS World Classification Committee formed by the presidency of the University of Samarra held its first preparatory meeting in the office of the vice president of the university; To implement and enter the classification requirements within the university’s development plan in the field of entering the international classifications for the education field.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed – Vice President of Samarra University – for Scientific Affairs, on Tuesday morning, October 11, to develop an initial plan for preparing and implementing the requirements of the annual World University Rankings for the best 800 universities in the world.

The classification includes five axes:

  • Academic reputation
  • Employers
  • The ratio of students to professors
  • Citations and recommendations
  • The presence of international students and professors at the university

During the meeting, sub-committees were formed, which were identified as five committees – the number of axes -, and each committee was tasked with preparing the requirements for its focus initially within ten days; To fulfill the criteria needed in the classification, which is published annually by the British educational company Quacquarelli Symonds.

In the same context, Hussein directed all the scientific departments at Samarra University, which have graduate studies, to the necessity of involving professors from outside the country in supervising master’s and doctoral theses, and effectively extending scientific bridges between Arab, regional and international universities during the coming days and weeks.
