The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra held a workshop on the methods used in oil and gas exploration.
The workshop, presented by the professor (Doaa Tawfiq), aims to introduce the essential methods used in oil and gas exploration, such as geological survey, geophysical survey, prospecting by drilling, and geochemical analysis.
The workshop reviewed the use of these methods to know where oil or gas is likely to be located, the rock formation conditions for oil and gas reservoirs, the estimation of the expected reserves, and determining the oil-generating rocks and the type of hydrocarbon.
