Coinciding with the Iraqi elections, Assist. Lect. Omar Ibrahim issues a book on digital media about the hashtag in elections.

The book, “The Hashtag in Parliamentary Elections: Digital Media as a Communication Environment,” has been published by Assist.Lect. Omar Ibrahim Ahmed (Director of the Studies and Planning Department) at the Rectorship of University of Samarra, and a faculty member in the Department of Media at the College of Arts at the same university.

The book includes four chapters, covering important topics in the formulation of hashtags and the messages and information they contain, which express the connotations of the tag that has gained a prominent role in the rapidly growing digital communication environment.

In his book, published by Dar Amjad for Publishing and Distribution in its first edition with an international numbering in Amman, Jordan, the faculty member addresses a scientific phenomenon that has been conspicuously present in digital media, which has become an open arena for information exchange, rapid dissemination, and influencing the recipient.

In turn, the Department of Media and Government Communication congratulates Omar on this achievement and hopes that such scientific projects, which keep pace with the communication process at all its levels and forms, will continue.
