Director of the Scientific Affairs Department Meets with Heads of Units in University Formations in Preparation for Sustainable Development Week

The Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at the Rectorship of the University of Samarra, Assoc. Prof. Dr. (Omar Abdullah Ahmed), held a meeting in his office with the heads of the Scientific Affairs units in the university’s colleges, on Monday, February 9th.

The meeting aimed to discuss the annual plans in the university’s formations, and the mechanisms for publishing scientific research in indexed repositories and platforms, in addition to preparing for Sustainable Development Week.

The attendees discussed the mechanism for indexing scientific research, as well as creating an annual plan in the university and its colleges that focuses on publishing mechanisms in local scientific journals and global repositories.

In the same context, the meeting focused on studying the colleges’ work plan for sustainable development requirements, and the university’s readiness to excel in Sustainable Development Week, whose activities are scheduled to be organized next April.

For his part, the Director of the Department recommended the necessity of paying attention to the Ministry’s electronic platforms, especially the “Nadwati” platform and the “Applied Research” platform, in addition to working on establishing a main database in the colleges specialized in training workshops, scientific seminars, and discussion panels specialized in scientific fields.
