The College of Education for Human Sciences Discusses the Relationship Between Human Health and the Environment in a Scientific Seminar
The Department of Geography at the College of Education for Human Sciences at Samarra University discussed the “Relationship between the Environment and Human Health” in a scientific seminar presented by Dr. (Nouraddin Faisal Ibrahim) and Assist. Lect. (Khalaf Fadel Ali).
Nouraddin reviewed the direct impact of environmental factors on human health, focusing on the link between air and water quality, waste management, and climate change with health safety and social and economic stability.
Meanwhile, Khalaf explained some types of environment-related diseases, including respiratory, heart, and kidney diseases, which often result from industrial pollution and mismanagement of natural resources, making environmental prevention a vital priority.
In the same context, brochures prepared by one of the students were distributed, covering health geography and environmental factors affecting health, along with analytical tools, realistic examples, as well as proposed policies and solutions.
On the other hand, the brochure included a mechanism for environmental risk assessment and the provision of practical solutions to ensure a balance between the environment and human health.
In turn, the lecturers emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility between the state, society, and institutions, and that commitment to sustainability principles ensures the health of society and the stability of future generations.
