The College of Agriculture at Samarra University Welcomes the Ministerial Committee for Establishing a Master’s Program in the Field Crops Department

The College of Agriculture at Samarra University welcomed the ministerial committee tasked with assessing the available material and human resources and the fulfillment of the requirements for establishing a Master’s program in Agriculture/Field Crops. This visit was in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Department of Research and Development.

The committee was received by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Khalid Abdullah Suhr, who emphasized the college’s commitment to developing postgraduate programs and providing a suitable academic environment that contributes to supporting research and academic activities and serving the agricultural sector.

The ministerial committee comprised a select group of professors specializing in various fields from several Iraqi universities. It was chaired by Professor Dr. Aqeel Najm Aboud from Tikrit University, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Majbal Abdullah from the Northern Technical University, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Rahim from Kirkuk University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sinan Abdullah Abbas from Anbar University.

The committee conducted a field visit to the college, including classrooms, scientific laboratories, and experimental fields belonging to the Field Crops Department. They also reviewed the faculty members’ CVs and academic titles and assessed the readiness of the infrastructure and logistical requirements for postgraduate studies, in accordance with Postgraduate Studies Instruction No. (26) of 1990.

The Dean explained that the college has worked to provide all the necessary scientific and technical requirements for establishing a Master’s program, which will contribute to preparing specialized personnel capable of serving the agricultural sector and supporting sustainable development.

This step is part of the College of Agriculture at Samarra University’s efforts to expand its postgraduate programs and enhance its scientific and academic standing among Iraqi universities.
