Faculty Members from the College of Applied Sciences Publish a Joint Research Paper Indexed in Scopus

Assistant Professor Dr. Wael Mohammed Mahdi, Dr. Saib Zahim Mohammed, and Assistant Professor Khalid Saeed Al-Taif, faculty members at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, have published a joint scientific research paper indexed in Scopus in the Israa University Journal of Applied Science (IUJAS), which is classified in the Q4 quartile of Scopus.

The research is titled:
“Efficiency of Using Magnetic Treatment Technology and Nano Ferric Oxide (Fe₃O₄) in Improving Well Water Quality and Its Effect on Some Growth Characteristics of Mung Bean (Vigna radiata L.)”.

The study aimed to evaluate the role of nano iron oxide (Fe₃O₄) and a water magnetization device in treating well water and improving some of its physical and chemical properties for agricultural use. The research also investigated the reduction of certain heavy elements and salts commonly present in well water.

The results showed that the interaction between nano iron oxide and the water magnetization device (treatment T4) achieved the highest efficiency in treating well water. Additionally, several physical and chemical properties of the treated water improved, including BOD, COD, and TDS, making the water more suitable for agricultural use.
