Two Faculty Members from the College of Applied Sciences Publish a Scientific Paper Indexed in Scopus
Two faculty members from the Department of Pathological Analyses at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra—Assistant Lecturer Raad Fadhil Abdullah and Assistant Lecturer Bashayer Ibrahim Hamdi—have published a scientific research paper indexed in Scopus.
The paper was published in the journal Food Science and Technology, which is ranked within the Q4 quartile in the Scopus database.
The research is entitled:
“Enhancing Sustainable Rabbit Meat Production: A Feed-Based Strategy Using Natural Antioxidants to Improve Breeding Buck Fertility and Genetic Integrity.”
The study aimed to evaluate the effects of oxidative stress and to investigate the extent of damage it causes to the fertility of male rabbits, particularly its negative impact on sperm quality and the integrity of their genetic structure.
The results demonstrated that natural antioxidants provide effective protection for sperm function and DNA integrity by enhancing the antioxidant defense system. The findings also highlighted the preservation of DNA integrity as a key protective effect.
