Dr. Ahmed Hussein Ali, a professor at the College of Education, was invited to the Cairo International Book Fair for the second consecutive year, following an official invitation from the fair’s administration. He was appointed as a speaker at a cultural seminar organized in the cultural hall of the Cairo International Book Fair, as part of the fair’s activities, under the title “Our Culture in Iraq and Morocco.”
This seminar is one of the cultural activities within the Cairo Book Fair, aimed at discussing cultural relations between Iraq and Morocco. The speaker reviewed the modern cultural relations between the two countries, which lasted only a few years during the period 1959-1962, after which a cultural estrangement occurred due to political separation. However, the existence of key commonalities between the two countries made this estrangement among the peoples short-lived, especially the shared language, religion, and history. He also reviewed the impact of Eastern Sufi movements in the Maghreb and the extent of their influence on Moroccans.
In a separate context, Ali extended an invitation to the director of the Institute of Journalism in Morocco, poet and media professional Said Kobrit, who was one of the fair’s guests, to conduct a training course for students of the Media Department in the College of Arts, given his extensive experience in radio presentation, preparation, and production.
