The College of Administration and Economics Organizes a Workshop Entitled “Statistics: The Language of Numbers and the Interpretation of Phenomena”

The College of Administration and Economics organized a scientific workshop entitled “Statistics: The Language of Numbers and the Interpretation of Phenomena,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hatem Abdulrahman Barak and Assistant Lecturer Marwa Abd Juweir, on Monday, 2 February 2026.

The workshop aimed to shed light on statistics as a language of analysis and interpretation rather than merely a collection of numerical equations, by emphasizing its role in understanding economic, social, and scientific phenomena and in extracting the underlying meanings embedded within numerical data.

The workshop addressed the simplification of fundamental statistical concepts and highlighted their significance in scientific research and decision-making, in a manner consistent with the requirements of the contemporary data-driven era.

The presenters emphasized that statistics represents the vital link between observation and interpretation, and the bridge that connects the scientific inquiry with precise and accurate answers, thereby fostering analytical thinking among students and researchers.
