Awareness Seminar at the College of Administration and Economics on the Occasion of World Intellectual Property Day

The Human Rights Unit at the College of Administration and Economics organized a scientific seminar on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Alia Abdul Latif Abdul Qader and Assistant Lecturer Ubaida Amer Khudair with the aim of promoting awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual creations and encouraging a spirit of innovation among students.

The seminar addressed the concept of intellectual property and its significance in safeguarding the rights of creators, while also highlighting the major challenges facing intellectual property in light of rapid technological development. In addition, several real-life examples were presented to illustrate the nature of these challenges.

The speakers emphasized the vital role of intellectual property in supporting creativity and establishing the foundations of a knowledgeable and informed society. They also stressed the importance of adopting practices that preserve intellectual rights within the academic environment.

The seminar concluded with several recommendations, most notably:

* Promoting a culture of intellectual property awareness among students and university staff.
* Encouraging the registration of innovations and scientific research to ensure the protection of their owners’ rights.
* Organizing specialized courses and workshops that contribute to the development of creative ideas and enhance awareness of laws related to intellectual property protection.
