Distinctive Digital Innovation at the College of Administration and Economics to Enhance Institutional Performance Evaluation
As a pioneering step toward digital transformation and the modernization of institutional work mechanisms, the College of Administration and Economics has launched an innovative electronic program for the calculation of job performance evaluation scores. This scientific and administrative initiative reflects the College’s commitment to advancement, excellence, and institutional leadership.
The concept of the program was the outcome of scholarly collaboration between Dr. Ahmed Farhan Hussein and Dr. Mohammed Hamed Majeed, while the system was designed and programmed by Mr. Mohammed Al-Hadi Sarmad Majeed. Through this collaborative effort, the academic vision was effectively translated into a comprehensive and fully integrated practical application that contributes to automating evaluation procedures and enhancing their overall efficiency and accuracy.
The program is designed to systematically organize and document the activities and achievements of faculty members—across all academic ranks—as well as administrative staff of various job titles, within a unified framework that applies precise standardized weights to the officially approved evaluation domains. These domains include teaching, scientific research, administrative contributions, professional development, community service, and other formally recognized criteria.
Among its key features is the capacity to record activities cumulatively throughout the year and directly link them to the relevant evaluation domains. This functionality significantly reduces time and administrative burden, minimizes manual errors, and streamlines the preparation of annual performance evaluation forms. Furthermore, the system generates advanced analytical digital reports that identify strengths and areas for improvement for each staff member, incorporating standardized comparisons within the same category to ensure enhanced objectivity, consistency, and accuracy of outcomes.
Beyond the mere calculation of scores, the program offers data-driven developmental recommendations derived from analytical insights, thereby supporting the professional growth of faculty and staff. In this way, the evaluation process is transformed from a routine administrative requirement into an effective instrument for sustainable institutional development and evidence-based decision-making grounded in clear and measurable performance indicators.
This innovation constitutes a significant qualitative addition to the College’s ongoing efforts to institutionalize the principles of fairness, transparency, and governance, while reinforcing a culture of institutional quality. It positively impacts both individual and organizational performance and reaffirms the College’s steadfast commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership within a progressive academic environment.
