The Media and Government Communication Division, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, organized an awareness campaign titled “Suicide Prevention,” under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul Salam Ahmed. This initiative comes as part of the College’s ongoing efforts to enhance psychological and social awareness and to promote a culture of humanitarian support among its students.
The campaign included the distribution of informational brochures outlining the concept of suicide prevention and highlighting its main psychological and social causes, such as social isolation, psychological stress, and feelings of hopelessness. In addition, the campaign shed light on the negative consequences of neglecting mental health and emphasized the importance of early intervention in preventing the escalation of psychological crises.
Furthermore, the campaign focused on presenting the available forms of support and assistance, including psychological support, family support, and student solidarity. It also underscored the vital role of active listening and proper guidance in supporting individuals experiencing psychological pressure or mental health crises. The campaign introduced available channels for seeking help and emergency contact numbers, while emphasizing that seeking support is a courageous step toward recovery.
This campaign reflects the College of Administration and Economics’ commitment to providing a psychologically safe university environment and to strengthening the values of solidarity and social responsibility, thereby contributing to the protection of students and the support of their mental well-being.
