Department of English Enhances Teaching Skills through an Academic Workshop
The Department of English at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Samarra, organized an academic workshop aimed at enhancing university teaching skills and developing the professional performance of faculty members and department students. This initiative came within the framework of academic openness and the exchange of scholarly expertise.
The workshop was delivered by the international academic Tomasz Gorzkiewicz, who has extensive teaching experience in Academic English and the Humanities. He holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching from Poland and Ireland. In addition, he has taught at the university level in several countries, including Poland, China, the Sultanate of Oman, Mexico, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The workshop aimed to highlight the most prominent modern pedagogical approaches that contribute to the success of university instructors, mechanisms for developing teaching methodologies, and ways to build positive interaction within the classroom in line with the requirements of contemporary higher education.
It is worth noting that this workshop was held on the sidelines of the English Language Festival organized by the department under the slogan “From the Seats of Learning to the Peaks of Knowledge: A Journey Crowned with Excellence,” which reflected the students’ energies and their scientific and cultural abilities through its diverse activities.
