Department of History Organizes an Educational Seminar on the Occasion of the Holy Qur’an Day
The Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Samarra organized an educational seminar on the occasion of celebrating the Holy Qur’an Day, entitled “The Holy Qur’an and Its Role in Building Civilizational Awareness throughout Islamic History.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Sultan Ali.
Dr. Ali opened the seminar with a set of academic themes focusing on the central status of the Holy Qur’an in building the civilizational awareness of Islamic society, highlighting its impact on shaping intellectual and ethical values that contributed to the emergence and continuity of Islamic civilization across different historical periods.
In the same context, he explained the role of the Holy Qur’an in guiding the movement of knowledge, promoting concepts of justice and humanity, and establishing the foundations of coexistence and social stability, while emphasizing how these principles were reflected in the Islamic civilizational experience across various fields.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Ali affirmed that the Holy Qur’an is considered one of the fundamental sources of historical writing, due to the intellectual and value-based contents it carries, which have contributed to shaping the civilizational awareness of the Islamic nation.
This seminar falls within the scientific activities organized by the department in line with the ministerial instructions regarding the celebration of the Holy Qur’an Day, reaffirming the role of academic institutions in consolidating Qur’anic values and enhancing civilizational awareness among students.
