The Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs Publishes an Article on the Occasion of World Clean Energy Day in Al-Mustaqbal Newspaper

Al-Mustaqbal Newspaper, in its issue No. 3486 published on Sunday, 25 January, featured an article by Dr. Badr Lafta Najm, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Samarra, entitled “World Clean Energy Day and Sustainability: Human Awareness and an Educational and Administrative Responsibility,” on the occasion of World Clean Energy Day, observed annually on 26 January.

In his article, Dr. Najm emphasized the importance of World Clean Energy Day as an international occasion that promotes awareness of the need to transition toward clean and renewable energy sources, considering them a strategic option that contributes to environmental protection and ensures a safe and sustainable future for coming generations. He noted that the issue of clean energy has moved beyond its technical framework to become a humanitarian, educational, and cultural matter linked to the human right to a healthy and stable environment.

He further explained that the increasing reliance on traditional energy sources has contributed to the escalation of environmental pollution, climate change, and the depletion of natural resources, which necessitates a review of consumption and production patterns and the strengthening of a shift toward sustainable alternatives based on awareness and responsibility.

In the same context, the article emphasized the pivotal role of educational institutions—particularly colleges of education for human sciences—in consolidating a culture of sustainability and building an aware individual, through the integration of scientific disciplines that enhance historical, ethical, educational, and geographical understanding of energy and environmental issues.
Moreover, he pointed out that the concept of sustainability is closely linked to administrative responsibility and safety procedures, stressing the importance of adhering to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Civil Defense, and applying prevention and safety standards to ensure a safe and stable educational environment.
Dr. Najm concluded his article by affirming that true investment begins with the human being, and that awareness of clean energy and sustainability represents a fundamental pillar in building a balanced society capable of protecting its environment, safeguarding its educational institutions, and serving future generations.
