The Department of History at the College of Education for Humanities has attracted an international external examiner within the program of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The Department of History at the College of Education for Human Sciences at University of Samarra hosted Assistant Professor Dr. Hanadi Zaal Masoud, a specialist in Islamic History at University of Jordan, as part of the External Examiner Program launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of postgraduate programs and advance academic and research standards.

The visit was conducted to review the progress of final examinations for postgraduate students in the Department of History for the 2025–2026 academic year, as well as to observe the academic and examination environment for Master’s and PhD students in accordance with the ministerial directives related to the External Examiner Program.

Dr. Hanadi Zaal Masoud met with the President of the University of Samarra, Professor Dr. Sabah Alawi Al-Samarrai, in the presence of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, and the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ziyad Tariq Ibrahim. During the meeting, they emphasized the importance of scientific cooperation and academic openness with Arab universities in ways that contribute to the exchange of expertise and the development of postgraduate programs.

During her field tour, Dr. Hanadi was accompanied by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, along with the Assistant Deans of the College of Education for Human Sciences, the Head of the Department of History, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Sajid Mukhlef, and the Director of the Quality Assurance Department. She reviewed the work of the examination committees and visited several examination halls designated for Master’s and PhD students. She also examined question paper models and their preparation mechanisms, in addition to observing the organizational procedures adopted to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations and their compliance with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.

In conclusion, the guest praised the organizational level demonstrated by the University of Samarra and the efforts made by the college deanship, the Department of History administration, and the examination committees in providing a solid examination environment that contributes to achieving academic fairness. She also stressed the importance of continuing academic cooperation among Arab universities and exchanging scientific and research expertise.
