The Department of History is discussing a master\’s thesis on Tunisia’s position on African issues

The Department of History at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Samarra, discussed a master’s thesis by the student Hazem Hammadi Aziz entitled: “Tunisia’s Position on African Issues (1962–1987).”

The thesis highlighted Tunisia’s role in supporting African liberation movements and opposing European and American colonial policies.
The study also emphasized Tunisia’s participation in solidarity campaigns with the peoples of the Congo, Mozambique, Rhodesia, and South Africa, as well as its rejection of foreign colonial policies.

Tunisia provided financial and material support, established training camps to prepare members of liberation movements, and coordinated cooperation with African countries to ensure their independence and to confront the threat of Israeli influence.

On the other hand, the student demonstrated the extent of Tunisia’s contribution to supporting African liberation movements through planning and participating in attacks against European colonialism, and by providing training to fighters, reflecting its commitment to a cooperative and constructive approach with colonized countries.

The student concluded by emphasizing the importance of the thesis in documenting Tunisia’s historical positions toward African issues and its role in promoting scientific research in the field of modern political history, contributing to a better understanding of Arab countries’ policies toward international liberation movements.
