The Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education Participates in a Refresher Course for First- and Second-Class Football Referees
Headed by Professor Dr. Bakr Mahmoud Alou, Chairman of the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, the department participated in a Refresher Course for First- and Second-Division Football Referees, hosted by the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Samarra. The course was organized by the Iraqi Central Football Association – Salah Al-Din Branch, under the supervision of the Salah Al-Din Referees Committee and sponsored by Samarra Sports Club, as part of ongoing efforts to support sports activities and enhance the professional development of football referees.
The course was attended by Professor Dr. Saad Abbas Abd, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Assistant Professor Dr. Badr Lafta Najm, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Education for Human Sciences, in addition to a number of referees and participants.
During the course, AFC Instructor Dr. Alaa Abdul Qader delivered a series of lectures covering the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game and refereeing instructions. He explained practical mechanisms for implementing these updates during matches, contributing to the enhancement of referees\’ technical competence and performance in accordance with the latest international standards.
The participation of the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education reflects the University of Samarra\’s commitment to supporting academic and sports activities while strengthening cooperation among its colleges and institutions, ultimately serving the community and fostering professional development.
