The English Department is organizing a training course on cooperative learning for first-year students

The Department of English at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Samarra, organized a training course entitled “Collaborative Learning,” delivered by Professor Dr. Yasser Mohammed Saleh and Lecturer Mohammed Abdulrazzaq Ismail for first-year students.

This course was organized as part of adopting modern teaching methods. It highlighted the collaborative learning strategy as an effective approach to developing speaking skills, enhancing classroom interaction, and shifting the learning process from passive instruction to active participation.

In this context, dividing students into small groups contributed to creating a motivating learning environment. This, in turn, had a positive impact on building self-confidence, reducing anxiety associated with using the language, and encouraging students to practice the language naturally.

In conclusion, the instructors provided direct training opportunities that enabled students to apply their language skills in interactive situations, supporting the development of fluency and enhancing effective communication.
