The Human Rights Unit organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of the International Day for Mass Graves

The Human Rights Unit at the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Samarra organized an awareness campaign titled “A History Carved by the Agony of the Homeland” on the occasion of the International Day for Mass Graves, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at strengthening humanitarian and national awareness regarding the crimes committed against the Iraqi people.

The organizers of the campaign sought to commemorate the victims of mass graves and shed light on the human rights violations witnessed in Iraq during different periods. The campaign also emphasized the importance of preserving national memory and promoting the values of justice and human rights among students and the university community.

The campaign included the dissemination of awareness messages and educational materials addressing the humanitarian and legal dimensions of mass grave crimes, as well as highlighting the importance of documenting these crimes as part of Iraq’s contemporary history and the moral and national responsibility they represent toward future generations.
