He noted that the professor’s role is not limited to transferring knowledge only, but also extends to being a role model in behavior, discipline, and commitment to university values. He also pointed out the importance of guiding students to adhere to rules and regulations within classrooms and across the university campus, contributing to the promotion of responsibility and mutual respect.
For his part, Fadil focused on the role of professors in instilling the ethics of dialogue and acceptance of others’ opinions, stressing the importance of promoting a culture of respecting differences and dealing with diverse viewpoints in a scientific and objective manner based on logic and understanding, away from intolerance or exclusion.
The workshop witnessed active interaction from attendees through a number of interventions and inquiries related to ways of enhancing a culture of respect within the university community.
In conclusion, the lecturers presented several recommendations, most notably the necessity for professors to serve as role models in scientific and professional life through commitment and respect, encouraging purposeful scientific discussions inside classrooms, rejecting all forms of bullying, and promoting the values of tolerance and cooperation among students in a way that contributes to building a positive university environment that motivates creativity and success.
