Two faculty members from the Department of History have published a new encyclopedia on prominent figures from Asia and Africa
Assistant Professor Dr. Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Rahim and Assistant Professor Dr. Fatin Abdul Salam Muzal, faculty members in the Department of History, College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Samarra, have published a new scholarly encyclopedia entitled \”Encyclopedia of Prominent Figures of Asia and Africa: Makers of History – Political and Military Personalities\”, issued by Nashiroun Publishing and Distribution House in 2026.
The encyclopedia is a comprehensive academic work that presents biographical entries and profiles of a large number of distinguished political and military figures from Asia and Africa who played significant roles in shaping historical events and influencing political and military developments in their countries and regions.
The encyclopedia provides extensive information on the backgrounds of these personalities, their educational and professional careers, the key positions they held, their major achievements, and their historical contributions. It also highlights their impact on political and military affairs as well as the transformations experienced by Asian and African countries throughout different historical periods.
This publication is the result of dedicated scholarly research conducted by the two authors and aims to serve as an academic reference documenting some of the most influential figures in the history of both continents. Written in a rigorous academic style, it is intended to benefit researchers, postgraduate students, and those interested in historical and political studies.
