An Employee at the College of Education for Pure Sciences Publishes an Article in Al-Dustour Newspaper

Ms. Sara Adnan Jasim, an employee at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Samarra, has published an article in Al-Dustour Newspaper entitled: “When Biology Meets Health Media: Knowledge Becomes Awareness, Awareness Becomes Health, and Health Becomes a Way of Life.”

Health media refers to all media activities aimed at disseminating health and medical knowledge among members of society through various media platforms, whether traditional, such as newspapers, radio stations, and television channels, or digital platforms, including websites and social media networks. This type of media seeks to guide individuals toward adopting healthy lifestyles, preventing diseases, and increasing awareness of the importance of regular medical check-ups, vaccinations, and proper nutrition.

Health media plays a significant role in promoting a culture of prevention within society, as prevention remains less costly and more effective than treatment. Health and media institutions strive to deliver awareness messages that encourage positive health behaviors, such as engaging in physical activity, maintaining personal hygiene, following a balanced diet, and avoiding harmful habits that negatively affect human health.

The author concluded her article by emphasizing that health media and biology constitute two complementary pillars for spreading scientific and health awareness within society. Biology provides scientific knowledge, while media communicates it and brings it closer to the public. Together, they contribute to building a well-informed society capable of understanding health-related issues and dealing with them responsibly, thereby positively impacting individual well-being and the future of nations.
