Architecture Department Students Present Innovative Design Visions to Develop the Urban Landscape of Al-Mu\’allimeen District

Fourth-stage students in the Department of Architecture at the University of Samarra, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Maysoon Muhi Hilal and Architect Saleh Alwan Hassan, presented innovative design solutions to develop the urban landscape of the (Al-Mu’allimeen) district in Samarra. Their presentations showcased the initial concept development phase, which integrated horizontal and vertical housing with comprehensive services.
The proposed ideas included robust architectural visions subjected to intensive scientific critique, focusing on facade aesthetics and functional efficiency. These designs integrated major investment projects, such as malls, hotels, and urban plazas, within the residential fabric.
These projects were characterized by high planning precision based on carefully studied percentages. Space was allocated at 40-55% for residential use, and 15-18% each for roads and commercial use. The remaining percentages were distributed among educational, administrative, and light industrial uses, while securing 12% for green spaces and 15% for mixed-use areas, ensuring the formulation of a sustainable and balanced urban environment.
