College of Engineering Explores Medical Dimensions of Vibration Technologies in a Specialized Scientific Seminar

The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized a specialized scientific seminar entitled “Applications of Vibration in the Medical Field,” presented by Lecturer Mohammed Owaid Attia, a faculty member in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering.
The seminar covered the historical roots and future prospects of vibration systems, spanning from the 19th century to their technical breakthroughs in the 20th century.
At the same time, the lecturer traced the evolutionary path of these systems, which derived their utmost necessity from astronaut rehabilitation programs following long-duration missions. These systems later transformed into a fundamental pillar of contemporary therapeutic protocols, particularly in the rehabilitation of muscular, skeletal, and neurological injuries, as well as supporting critical recovery phases after surgical operations.
The seminar concluded with a forward-looking vision on harnessing engineering innovation to serve public health, emphasizing the growing role of these technologies in improving human quality of life and ensuring the sustainability of physical efficiency.
