College of Engineering Launches Awareness Campaign for Seasonal Flu Prevention
The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra has launched an awareness campaign under the slogan “Your Health is Your Responsibility and Ours,” aimed at safeguarding the university environment against seasonal influenza through comprehensive health guidelines for both students and staff.
The campaign explained the nature of the respiratory virus and its rapid spread via droplets and contaminated surfaces, particularly during the autumn and winter seasons. It also highlighted the importance of monitoring symptoms—such as fever, coughing, and body aches—and advised seeking medical consultation when feeling general exhaustion.
Furthermore, the campaign’s recommendations focused on the importance of receiving the seasonal vaccine, adhering to a healthy diet, and ensuring continuous ventilation in halls and offices. It also emphasized personal hygiene practices, such as regular handwashing and avoiding touching the face.
The event concluded by calling on everyone to act responsibly by avoiding contact with others when sick and wearing face masks to ensure a safe and stable educational environment.
