College of Engineering Organizes a Specialized Scientific Course on Infrastructure Execution Mechanisms

The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized a scientific course titled “Infrastructure Execution” on Monday and Tuesday, May 11-12, 2026. The course was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hatem Abdul Karim Alwan, in the presence of the Dean of the College, a group of staff members and students, as well as individuals interested in the fields of engineering execution and construction.
The course covered the fundamental aspects related to the execution of infrastructure projects, starting from the planning and preliminary study phases of the projects, moving through engineering surveying works and the preparation of executive blueprints, and concluding with field supervision and follow-up mechanisms.
In a related context, the lecturer explained the technical requirements for water, sewage, and rainwater drainage networks, in addition to road, pavement, and associated service works, while outlining the most important technical standards approved in the execution of these projects.
On the other hand, the course included a practical explanation of the steps for executing infrastructure projects in accordance with modern engineering specifications. It also clarified soil testing methods, excavation and backfilling works, concrete pouring techniques, and pipe laying, alongside discussing occupational safety and quality control procedures during execution.
