College of Engineering Organizes a Specialized Scientific Course on Infrastructure Implementation Mechanisms
The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized a scientific course titled “Infrastructure Implementation” on Monday and Tuesday, May 11-12, 2026. The course was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hatem Abdul Karim Alwan, in the presence of the Dean of the College, a group of staff members and students, as well as those interested in the fields of engineering implementation and construction.
The course covered the fundamental aspects related to the implementation of infrastructure projects, starting from the planning stages and preliminary project studies, moving through engineering surveying and the preparation of executive plans, and concluding with field supervision and follow-up mechanisms.
In a related context, the lecturer explained the technical requirements for water, sewage, and rainwater drainage networks, in addition to roadwork, pavements, and associated services, while highlighting the most important technical standards adopted in the implementation of these projects.
On the other hand, the course included a practical explanation of the steps for implementing infrastructure projects according to modern engineering specifications, with clarification on soil testing methods, excavation and backfilling works, concrete pouring techniques, and pipe laying, as well as discussing occupational safety procedures and quality control during execution.
