College of Engineering Organizes Awareness Campaign on the Dangers of Drugs and Their Societal Impacts

The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized an awareness campaign aimed at shedding light on the imminent dangers resulting from drug شabuse, initiated by a group of the college’s staff members. The organizers sought to raise awareness among students and employees by distributing educational leaflets that carried explicit warning messages.

This campaign focused on exposing the catastrophic dimensions of this plague, which transcends individual harm to devastate the entire fabric of society. It highlighted the close link between the spread of drugs and the escalation of violent crime rates, as well as the sharp deterioration it causes in the economic status of both families and institutions.

In a related context, the initiative worked to demonstrate the direct correlation between addiction and the collapse of moral and social values. Simultaneously, it warned of serious health consequences, such as the spread of infectious diseases and the increase in traffic and occupational accidents that threaten lives.

Furthermore, the campaign addressed the long-term negative effects on the labor market, as this phenomenon contributes to the depletion of human potential and leads to a shortage of the skilled workforce necessary for nation-building. This makes confronting the issue a shared national and ethical responsibility that falls upon all academic and social institutions.

It is noted that this campaign was organized by the Security Permits Office at the college, under the direct supervision of Engineer Wali Hamid Murad.
