College of Engineering Outlines Financial and Professional Empowerment Strategies for Women in a Workshop
The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Samarra, organized a specialized workshop titled “Smart Financing for Ambitious Women.” Presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Zainab Abdul-Majeed Khalaf, the session aimed to formulate an integrated roadmap to enhance women’s leadership both academically and professionally.
The workshop presenter detailed several themes that integrated psychological rehabilitation with financial intelligence and the investment of intellectual and social capital. Focus was placed on mechanisms for transforming ideas into tangible projects that balance professional ambition with family responsibilities, while managing economic risks through intelligence and strategic planning.
On another note, the workshop included practical applications to enhance financial sustainability. Most notable among these were the triple-budget rule for income distribution and investment priorities within the Iraqi market—starting with emergency funds and gold, moving toward productive projects—while emphasizing the protection of personal resources from social distractions.
The event concluded by reviewing models for digital and home-based projects suitable for the local environment. It issued an inspiring call to attendees on the necessity of taking initiative and utilizing currently available tools to achieve success without waiting for “absolute readiness.”
It is worth noting that this workshop was held as part of the executive plan for the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2026), specifically under the Second Axis (Economic Development of Iraqi Women), Paragraph One.
