Dean of the College of Engineering Chairs an Extensive Meeting to Enhance Administrative Performance
The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, chaired an extensive meeting with the heads of administrative departments. The meeting aimed to discuss ways to elevate the administrative status and develop work mechanisms that support the college’s scientific progress.
The Dean began the meeting by emphasizing the importance of both electronic and paper archiving for personal files, stressing the need to complete this task across all administrative departments to ensure data preservation and ease of retrieval. He also provided a comprehensive review of the staff transfer and secondment files to ensure a balanced distribution of human resources.
In a related context, the meeting featured an in-depth discussion on the requirements of the “Bologna Process” educational system, particularly regarding the calculation of extra hours and the organization of associated schedules. Attendees also explored the possibility of establishing new administrative units within some departments to keep pace with the expanding tasks of the college. Furthermore, they discussed the organization of liability records and official correspondence between scientific departments and the central mail unit to ensure administrative flow and precise definition of responsibilities.
Moreover, the meeting included a realistic review of the challenges and obstacles facing various departments. The Dean listened to several proposals submitted by the department heads to overcome these hurdles, directing that all deficiencies regarding equipment, machinery, and personnel be identified to provide the necessary support.
The meeting concluded with the approval of field follow-up committees to monitor the administrative workflow within the scientific departments and ensure the application of institutional standards in processing transactions.
