Dean of the College of Engineering Participates in the Iraqi Engineers Union’s Celebration on Iraqi Engineer’s Day
The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, attended the engineering forum organized by the Iraqi Engineers Union / Salah al-Din Branch to celebrate Iraqi Engineer’s Day. The event took place amidst a high-level official and trade union presence, led by Mr. Haitham Al-Zahwan, Governor of Salah al-Din, and Engineer Adel Al-Sumaidaie, Chairman of the Provincial Council, alongside the Deans of the Colleges of Engineering at the Universities of Tikrit, Samarra, and Al-Shirqat, as well as an elite group of senior officials and engineering pioneers and youth.
The ceremony witnessed a high-level exchange of honors that embodies the integration of the engineering system in both its academic and practical aspects. The Union honored the Dean of the College of Engineering with the Shield of Creativity and Excellence, along with a group of esteemed professors and faculty members of the college, in appreciation of their academic contributions and their role in preparing future talents, in addition to honoring a selection of engineering pioneers, distinguished female engineers, and media professionals.
In a reciprocal gesture reflecting the depth of cooperation between academic institutions and executive departments, the Dean took the initiative to honor a number of distinguished engineers from the governorate’s departments, praising their field contributions to driving the wheel of construction and development.
For its part, the Deanship of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra expressed its deep thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi Engineers Union / Salah al-Din Branch for this generous initiative, stressing its aspiration to strengthen the strategic partnership to support the reconstruction process. The forum concluded in an atmosphere filled with pride in the pioneering role played by the Iraqi engineer as an enduring symbol of dedication and creativity in various fields.
