Dean of the College of Engineering Participates in the Meeting of the Committee of Deans of Engineering Colleges at Al-Iraqia University

The Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjed Saleh Mahmood, participated in the first in-person meeting of the Committee of Deans of Engineering Colleges for the academic year 2025-2026. The meeting was hosted by the College of Engineering at Al-Iraqia University on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The meeting commenced with a gesture of appreciation and loyalty, as the President of Al-Iraqia University honored Professor Dr. Malik Jassim Farhan, Dean of the College of Engineering at Mustansiriya University, and Professor Dr. Anis Abdullah Kadhim, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Diyala, in recognition of their distinguished efforts during their tenure as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Committee.
On the academic front, the Deans discussed the completion of final preparations for the evaluation exams (mock and final) for the specializations of Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Project Management, as well as Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Cybersecurity, to ensure the academic rigor of this year’s educational outcomes.
Furthermore, the session witnessed extensive discussions regarding official correspondence from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This included a proposal to incorporate the principles of transparency and integrity within the Professional Ethics course as a university requirement, and a study on establishing and updating several postgraduate programs (Master’s and Doctorate) in both public and private universities. The discussions also covered the auditing of teaching staff for newly established departments and the follow-up on the Bologna Process to contribute to the development of the academic and engineering landscape in Iraq.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chair of the Committee of Deans of Engineering Colleges honored the President of Al-Iraqia University in appreciation of his exceptional efforts in supporting engineering colleges and his significant role in the success of this meeting through excellent preparation, organization, and warm hospitality, wishing Al-Iraqia University and its College of Engineering continued distinction and scientific progress.
