Engineering College Organizes Awareness Workshop on the Dangers of Drugs
The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Samarra, represented by the School Official, Dr. Shaimaa Hisham Abdulmalik, organized a specialized awareness workshop titled “Drugs Between Awareness and Decline: The Responsibility of the Individual and Society.”
The workshop was delivered by two lecturers from the Department of Architectural Engineering: Lecturer Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah and Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Saadi Abdulmohsen, on Sunday, November 16th, on the college campus.
The organizers of the workshop, which targeted students from the Department of Architectural Engineering, sought to enhance awareness of the dangers of drugs from the health, psychological, and social perspectives.
The workshop included a comprehensive presentation on the causes of this phenomenon’s spread, the stages of decline, and the early indicators, with a focus on the impact of addiction on the students’ future and the role of the family, university, and society in prevention.
Meanwhile, the lecturers emphasized the importance of building psychological immunity in youth and the necessity of creating a healthy and supportive university environment.
It is noteworthy that this event is part of a series of activities aimed at spreading awareness, promoting positive behavior within the university community, and preparing a responsible generation capable of facing serious societal challenges.
