In a Joint Research Team: College of Engineering Publishes a Study on Logistics System Efficiency in Scopus and Clarivate Databases

The faculty of the College of Engineering at the University of Samarra has achieved a new scientific milestone by publishing a specialized research paper titled “Development of Statistical Models for Traffic Accident Analysis and Estimation of Their Economic Costs in Jordan” in the international scientific journal (Acta Logistica). The journal is indexed within the Scopus and Clarivate databases (Q3). This achievement is the result of efforts by the research team consisting of Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Abdullah Hassan, Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Hadi Mahmoud, and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Diaa Abdullatif.
The study focused on analyzing behavioral and situational factors affecting the efficiency of traffic flow in Jordan. It relied on official data from the Public Security Directorate and insurance company records to build advanced statistical models linking human behavior with disruptions in logistical, informational, and financial flows.
The research results concluded that incorrect behaviors—such as failing to take necessary precautions, violating traffic priorities, and misuse of lanes—are among the most prominent causes of increased accidents, economic losses, and poor efficiency of the transport logistics system.
In turn, the researchers emphasized the need to enhance traffic awareness and develop regulatory procedures while integrating safety concepts into comprehensive logistics management strategies. They stressed that these results open horizons for future studies involving environmental factors and infrastructure to improve the efficiency of the transport sector and reduce road risks.
In this regard, the Deanship of the College of Engineering, represented by its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjad Saleh Mahmoud, congratulates the research team on their distinguished scientific output. The Deanship wishes them continued success in their research careers, contributing to the enrichment of the scientific library with more rigorous studies that provide practical solutions to logistical and environmental problems, and elevating the academic ranking of the college and university in international forums.
